📝 Abstract

Agricultural irrigation is a critical factor in enhancing crop yield and ensuring food security. This study aims to explore innovative irrigation practices that can enhance climate resilience in agricultural systems across different continents. The research was conducted collaboratively by teams from the University of Graz, University of Colombo, and University of Dar es Salaam. Data were gathered from diverse climatic regions and analyzed to assess the efficiency of various irrigation methods. The study employed a mixed-method approach, integrating quantitative data analysis and qualitative field observations. Findings indicate that drip irrigation combined with smart water management systems significantly improves water use efficiency and crop productivity under varying environmental conditions. The results suggest that adopting advanced irrigation techniques can substantially mitigate the impacts of climate change on agriculture. In conclusion, the study underscores the importance of integrating technological advancements in irrigation practices to develop sustainable agriculture strategies, thus providing a blueprint for policy makers and researchers in the field.
