πŸ“ Abstract

Construction is among the most hazardous industries and need a comprehensive and simple to administer tool to continuously assess and promote its health and safety performance. Through the study of, mostly, HSE-MS, OHSAS 180001, and BS 8800, seven main elements for the desired framework were determined, and then, by reviewing literatures, factors affecting these main elements were determined. The relative importance of each element and related factor was calculated at organization and project level. The provided framework then was implemented in three construction companies and results were compared together. The results of the study show that the relative importance of main elements and their related factors differ between organization and project levels, so that leadership and commitment are the most important element at organization level while risk assessment and management is the most important one at project level. Also the results show that the framework is easy to administer and by interpreting the results, main factors result in the present condition of companies can be determined.
