📝 Abstract

The basic problems in digital image processing are image signal representation and modelling, enhancement, restoration, reconstructions from projections, analysis and coding. Image enhancement include methods for contrast enhancement, edge detection, sharpening, linear filtering and non-linear filtering, zooming and noise removal. In this paper, we have implemented Two-dimensional Fast Fourier Transform (2D FFT) and vedic algorithm based on Urdhva Tiryakbhyam sutra. The algorithm is presented using MATLAB program. The input image is divided into blocks and 2D FFT is applied to enhance or filter the image. The proposed 2D FFT design uses Urdhva Tiryakbhyam sutra. Performing FFT computations using vedic multiplication sutra gives a significant performance as compared to conventional FFT.
