π Abstract
Heterotopic gastric mucosa is described almost everywhere in the gastrointestinal tract from the oral cavity to the rectum; however, it is extremely rare to be found in the gallbladder. This report describes a 45-year-old woman who repeatedly vomited for 5 months. Sonography revealed a hyperechoic nodule with well-defined margins and regularΒ figure. Color Doppler reviewed no internal vascularization. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) showed the nodule was quickly enhanced and soon exhibited a clear washout with hypoechogenicity. Enhanced computed tomography demonstrated a marginal enhancement of the nodular and the gallbladder carcinoma was highly suspected. The patient underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy with the result of pathologically confirmed heterotopic gastric mucosa and polypoid hyperplasia.
