📝 Abstract

Passive cooling of buildings through natural sources has received the attention of researchers\nin recent years. In the present work the concept of producing cooling effect through\naugmented ventilation by excess hot energy available during summer days from the solar flat\nplate collector and by storing cool energy available during the early morning hour in the\nPhase Change Material (PCM) based storage system is attempted. An experimental setup is\nmade to study the cooling potential achieved due to the novel concept of augmented\nventilation system and the results are reported. The results from the present study reveal that a\nconsiderable reduction in temperature and an improvement in ventilation is possible by\nutilizing the naturally available hot and cool sources.
