📝 Abstract
A snake-like robot with music perception and entertainment via a computer music generator is discussed in the current study. The students will study the related branches of computer science and engineering technology as course units as well as undergoing workshop training for the acquisition of the necessary practical skills in engineering education. The digital music in is automatically generated through sensors detection. More particularly, the variations of two physical quantities are sensed, including the speed variation of the robotic snake and the variation of the pressure applied by the snake-like robot to the ground. While the biaxial acceleration sensor measures the speed variation of the snake-like robot, the pressure applied by the robotic snake to the ground is detected by the Flexi Force Sensor according to the ground conditions. The variations of the two physical quantities are coupled together to establish several signal intensity relationships. By analysing the mathematical model of the snake-like robot, and transforming the D-H matrices, one can obtain the results for constructing the relationship between the angle and the coordinate of each section of the robotic snake. The practical work will both interest and satisfy the students and learning will be motivated. It will also encourage the students to appreciate and take early steps to come into line with the music sensing capacity. The results of this work may extend as far as the development of a scientific teaching aid which will raise the value of this educational research by the realization of a commercial marketable product.
